The brief, honestly
Overview
A consumer brand in a category that resets four times a year needed to look like itself without repeating a campaign. We moved the consistency out of the palette and into the rules.
The problem
A fixed identity would age in a season; a loose one would never be recognised.
“Colour is a system, not a decoration.
The insight the work turned on
The system
One mark, one grid, and an open palette governed by rules of proportion instead of a fixed set of swatches.
How it was made
We wrote the proportion rules first and let four seasonal teams break them on purpose, to see where the system actually failed.
